Philip Stone
Philip has worked in the UK book industry for 25 years. He worked as a bookseller turned assistant manager at Waterstones between 2000 and 2007, leaving to join The Bookseller magazine as its charts and data editor. At The Bookseller, he developed a reputation as one of the UK's foremost book market experts, regularly appearing on radio, television and in the wider media sharing his insights. He was one of the architects of "Super Thursday" — the annual retail and marketing phenomenon that celebrates the release of the biggest books in the run-up to Christmas every year. After a five-year spell as Penguin Random House's insights manager, Philip joined Nielsen BookData in 2019 where his remit includes producing the prestigious Sunday Times bestseller lists.
